The bowls club was formed in 1988 and is situated opposite the Church in Church Lane. It is a private club which means the members have to maintain and fund the care of the surrounding area and the green.
The club does not play in any of the local leagues but play two friendly matches a week with local clubs during the season as well as club competitions.
Old and young, beginners and experienced bowlers are very welcome to join in. All equipment is provided, but you can bring your own bowls if you have them.
Weather permitting, members are at the green most evenings from 6.00 pm.
Subscriptions for 2025: Full members – £30.00
NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
The bowling green opens for practice on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:00pm and Sunday Afternoons at 2pm.
Members and guests are of course able to play at any time that the green is not in use for a match.
The club plays friendly matches against other local clubs and is a beautiful spot to spend some time.
We are adjacent to the Parish Hall, which has parking.
Try outs are free and if you decide to join full annual membership is £40, associate membership is also available.
Winter indoor bowls takes place on a Thursday evening at 7-9pm.
In fact, it has proven so popular that we are now doing a daytime session in the Ellastone Village Hall every Wednesday 1-3pm.
The cost is £3 to £4 per session dependent on numbers so the more the merrier.
Anyone interested in playing will receive a very warm welcome, bring your own bowls or we have club bowls for you to use. No experience necessary.
