23 years ago, Mayfield and Ellastone Community First Responders began their voluntary service to the community and during that time lots of people have benefitted from their early arrival in advance of the ambulance.
There were 30 members of the team then, but over the years, the numbers have dwindled and there are now just two actively responding. They do their very best to continue to provide a good service and with the demands on the ambulance service, CFRs are needed more than ever, but we need more responders!
Over the years, we have had plumbers, builders, accountants, teachers, bank employees, parents, grandparents, young people looking for a career in healthcare etc, so anyone can train. Please consider whether you could volunteer.
We are happy to explain what we do and look forward to hearing from lots of villagers who feel they could help their community in this way.
